What is Mentoring?
Mentors are crucial to all Youth Business Programmes. Without the invaluable contribution of the mentor, the young entrepreneur's ability to progress, grow and achieve business success is severely hampered.
A YBTT Mentor is a volunteer to the organisation and provides encouragement, guidance and advice to young entrepreneurs. This ensures that the business has the best possible chance of survival. The mentor helps the young person by transferring vital and often ‘difficult-to-access' knowledge and experience. The mentoring experience must be considered a relationship and not a service and so it is free of charge. The mentor is much like a family figure to the young entrepreneur, fulfilling the role of coach, counsellor, guide and friend.
