Takeaways from Digitizing My Business 2.0

Takeaways from Digitizing My Business 2.0

In a world where businesses are expected to show up online, across platforms, and in the minds of AI tools, staying ahead of the digital curve is no longer optional, it’s survival. That’s exactly what over 200 entrepreneurs explored at the Digitizing My Business 2.0 workshop, hosted by Youth Business Trinidad and Tobago (YBTT) in partnership with EXIMBANK. This interactive and practical session was facilitated by Caribbean Digital strategist Keron Rose, who broke down what it really takes to build a digital presence in 2025 and beyond.

Why This Workshop Mattered

Opening remarks from EXIMBANK’s Keegan Barrett emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting growth-stage entrepreneurs and the non-energy sector. Their partnership with YBTT reflects a shared vision: helping entrepreneurs scale with confidence by building digital capacity and export readiness.

The Digital Realities of 2025

According to Keron, the game has changed dramatically. Today, customers don’t find businesses through a single channel. They discover brands through podcasts, blogs, YouTube videos, AI assistants like ChatGPT, and even voice searches. If your business is only active on Instagram or Facebook, you’re already falling behind.
Keron emphasized that digital infrastructure is the foundation for success and it’s more than having a social media page. A strong digital infrastructure includes:

    • A well-optimized website
    • Content creation (blogs, videos, podcasts)
    • A CRM and email list
    • Online payment systems
    • Google, Bing, and Apple business profiles

He encouraged participants to stop thinking like consumers and start thinking like digital brands. If you’re using ChatGPT to help, make purchase decisions, then your customers probably are too. So, the real question becomes: Is your business showing up in those recommendations?

AI is Your Business Partner, Not a Threat

Keron urged entrepreneurs to treat AI like their personal assistant, not their competitor. Using a Marvel-inspired metaphor, he compared the ideal AI relationship to Iron Man and Jarvis. With the right prompts and strategy, AI tools can do the heavy lifting in content creation, customer research, and data analysis, freeing up entrepreneurs to focus on scaling.
Participants even walked through how to build a detailed Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) using ChatGPT and AnswerThePublic, showing how AI can provide market insights faster than ever before.

From Content Paralysis to Content That Converts

One of the most powerful reminders was that content still rules the internet, but not just any content. Businesses must produce valuable, searchable, and relevant content that aligns with customer intent. And this content needs to exist across platforms: YouTube, blogs, podcasts, and more.
He also revealed a digital secret: most social media content has a shelf life of less than 48 hours, while content on YouTube or blogs can still bring traffic years later. That’s why a multi-channel content strategy is no longer a luxury.

From Learning to Action

Five participants who complete the post-workshop evaluation were selected for a Growth Sprint Advisory Session, where they’ll received coaching directly from Keron. It’s YBTT’s way of helping entrepreneurs move from learning into implementation.

I am definitely guilty of joining online sessions but doing other things in the background when something doesnt really apply to me. These sessions with Keron Rose were so interactive and informative that I was 100% engaged during the entirety of each session. I took copious notes and I'm looking forward to applying the lessons learned to my content creation and the development of my business website.
